Basebox Studio, Community Sport and Health Officer Apprentice
Fixed Term 18-month Contract £507 per month, Ruislip Gardens
Are you interested in Sport, Fitness and Wellbeing and working in the community? If Yes, then the Basebox Studio & Street Games Community Sport and Health Officer Apprenticeship could be for you! We are looking for someone to support the growth of our studio schedule and the delivery of our kids and community programme to encourage people of all backgrounds to take up fitness and wellbeing, in the Ruislip Gardens area.
The programme will use a variety of fitness and wellbeing activities and sessions in Basebox Studio, as well as the surrounding outdoor areas, to help us to engage with a wider audience. You will earn as you learn and gain a level 3 Apprenticeship as a Community Sport Officer spending 20% of your contracted hours with the Street Games completing you off job training.
Basebox Studio opened in 2017 and is a boutique fitness studio in Ruislip Gardens providing fun and creative fitness and wellness classes and 121 sessions for adults and kids of all ages, abilities and background. We focus on the positive way our classes make people feel rather than encouraging clients to workout because they feel ‘guilty’. We believe in strong over skinny and we’re looking for someone to help us continue to spread this message through creative and fun fitness sessions. If you have a passion for sport and fitness, have creative ideas, excellent interpersonal and organisational skills and understand the importance of teamwork then this is the role for you.
The apprentice will work closely with the Basebox Studio director / Co-Ordinator to support the current running of the studio as well as developing the kids and community programme to maximise the studio’s resources. This will involve an imaginative and problem-solving approach to ensure a successful programme of delivery that positively impacts on the lives of our local community through fitness, wellness and sport.
Basebox first started trading in 2017, and so this is rare and exciting opportunity to have a huge influence on the creative direction of our programmes and session delivery, as well as joining a start-up company at the beginning of its journey! By taking up this apprenticeship you will develop your project management skills and because you will be involved in seeing the impact of the programme first hand you will expand your skills in capturing data, monitoring progress and reporting. You will also gain experience in administration, reception and customer service work. You must have a keen interest in sport or fitness or dance, experience of leading and volunteering in sport in School Sport, Community/Club Sport settings or Sports Events is welcome but not essential. You will have some understanding of project management and be keen to work with young people and the local community.
Basebox believes that diversity drives excellence and that representation is important, we therefore positively welcome and seek to ensure we achieve diversity in our workforce and that all job applicants and employees receive equal and fair treatment. We encourage applications from all candidates regardless of age, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality.
