 We caught up with some of our clients to find out what motivates them, and what it is they love so much about classes at Basebox.

Whats your day to day lifestyle like?

‘I’m a Logistics Manager for eBay, so I spend most of my day sat behind 3 screens.’

What’s your fave Basebox class and why?

‘I’m very biased in the fact that my favourite class is the only class that I’ve tried at Basebox- Beginners Street Dance Fitness on a Wednesday evening. It fits perfectly into my schedule and I don’t have to rush (too much) from work!’

Why did you choose Basebox Studio?

‘I play Netball quite seriously, but always felt like I wanted a more fun fitness release in my schedule. At the beginning of the year I took up dancing again and started with a studio in central London. Travelling became too much and I quickly decided to look elsewhere. I chose Basebox because it’s local, offers the same high-quality/high intensity sessions and, as bonus, boasts a personal & friendly environment.’

What motivates you to keep fit and attend regular fitness classes?

‘I love the energetic feeling I get right after exercise. I have a bounce in my step and feel better knowing that I’ve had fun whilst investing long term into my body and health.’

What would you say to someone who’s thinking about taking a Basebox Class?

‘I’d definitely recommend Basebox to any prospective clients- it’s a safe environment where you can seriously work on your fitness in a fun and creative way’

Do Basebox Classes help to make you feel more engaged with you local community?

‘100%- I now view local businesses and supporting the community in a different light. Basebox provides a platform for its local community to connect through their love of fitness and dance and their recent 1st Birthday party celebration is testament to this.’

Whats your day to day lifestyle like?

 I volunteer in a care home and a toddler group so i’m on my feet a lot. The children do run around a lot. 

2. What’s your fave Basebox class?

I love my PT sessions with Leigh, especially tennis in the summer and enjoy weights as well.

3. Why did you decide to take fitness classes at Basebox Studio? 

Initially to lose weight.

4. What motivates you to keep fit and attend regular fitness classes?

I like to go to be strong so enjoy weights

5. Do you have any fitness / health and wellness goals or resolutions for 2019? 

Try to lose weight

7. Do Basebox Classes help to make you feel more engaged with you local community?

 I feel better about myself and Leigh is a great encourager and teacher.

Whats your day to day lifestyle like?

I lead an extremely busy lifestyle, from leaving the house at 5AM, to only returning at 5PM and being stood up on my feet all day. I am a Front Office Supervisor at the Hilton Westminster, which requires me to always be active and use my body to move.

What’s your fave Basebox class & why?

My favourite Basebox class is definitely Kettlebells - I thoroughly enjoy this class, as it gives me the opportunity to work towards a goal such as; starting with an 8KG Kettlebell and now being able to swing a 16KG Kettlebells The class offers a variety of exercises, which makes you feel like you are getting an excellent work out, and the class has really enabled me to work on my upper body strength.

Why did you choose Basebox Studio?

I moved to London from China in February early this year, and with being very much into fitness, I wanted to join a community studio that offered a variety of classes to fit around my busy schedule. My main goal of taking fitness classes at Basebox Studio was to enhance my overall fitness, I originally started Personal Training sessions with Leigh once a week to increase my fitness level, and I then moved onto 4-5 classes per week.


What would you say to someone who’s thinking about taking a Basebox Class?

'If you really want to increase your overall fitness, see astonishing results, and join a community that offers a comfortable, enjoyable and reliable environment then Basebox is for you!'

Do Basebox Classes help to make you feel more engaged with you local community?

Since joining Basebox I have met various people, and connected with them. Basebox offers an environment that engaging, comfortable, humble, fun, and energetic!

Whats your day to day lifestyle like?

I am a software programmer. Its a 8 hour sitting/thinking job in front of screens and before-after work hours it is managing kids, household chores etc. (crazy hours)


What’s your fave Basebox class & why?

Kettlebells - I have seen the difference it has made to me, toning and shaping my body right. Weights generally challenge me so I enjoy it even more.

Why did you decide to take fitness classes at Basebox Studio?

It is an extremely convenient location and it has an array of varied classes that I can swing to and the timings matches with my work hours. It also is a very friendly environment unlike the daunting gym where everyone is sweating it out like crazy alone! Group workouts are stimulating and motivating.

What motivates you to keep fit and attend regular fitness classes?

Better energy levels, increased stamina and the fact that I can look better and fresh.


What would you say to someone who’s thinking about taking a Basebox Class?

Definitely go for it. They have the best space, trained and humbling instructor and the classes just works!

Do Basebox Classes help to make you feel more engaged with you local community?

Strangely it has, it is mainly the people who come when we engage in short funny talks.

What's your day to day lifestyle like?

I am a Project Manager at Transport for London, managing IT projects. I am sat at a desk most of the day so not particularly active at work.

What’s your fave Basebox class & why?

I am in the process of trying different classes at the moment to see what fits me best. I would have to say that I am enjoying Pilates and Ballet Barre.

Why did you decide to take fitness classes at Basebox Studio?

I was looking for something that would help me in my recovery. I had just finished my treatment for primary Breast cancer and was looking for something that would help me build my fitness levels up in a more relaxed atmosphere than a standard gym. My confidence levels were pretty low as I had just finished chemotherapy and had lost my hair so didn't really want to go back to my previous gym. . My energy levels were very low and I wanted to try Pilates to build my body strength up. The fact that is so local to home is an added bonus which means I have no excuse for not going.

What motivates you to keep fit and attend regular fitness classes?

Every time I think of skipping a class, I think of my recovery. I have felt so rubbish at times this past year, every class I go to is a step to me feeling a bit more like myself.

What would you say to someone who’s thinking about taking a Basebox Class?

Come and try. I was the type person that would never normally do Pilates and concentrated on high impact sweaty classes. I am finding new things that I am liking. It is a really close knit group of people and everyone is really friendly which puts you at ease. It doesn't feel like some gyms where you feel judged by how you look. This was really important to me entering my recovery as I haven't been confident about my appearance with my hair loss and weight gain from the steroids.
